In order to communicate the expanded capabilities of the company, Marinexplore has become Planet OS. Founded in 2012, the company developed a big data platform for analyzing sensor data for marine industries and governments. It has been working with industry leaders and government agencies concerned with oil and gas, shipping and ocean science. The expanded focus allows the Company to serve a broader group of industries including weather, energy, transportation, urban planning and agriculture, all of which are grappling with the enormous amount of data generated by millions of connected sensors across the planet.
